Crazy old lady I saw in Guatemala.

When I saw her slumped against a building on the street, I thought she was dead. Then she groaned, so I gave her money. Just a few coins, but she thanked me and I took her picture. Usually I feel like an idiot- a conceited, western jerk- taking pictures of people's misery. 'It's not a fucking zoo', I want to scream at the silly american tourists laughing and snapping pictures of everything they see. However, something seemed ok about this one, so I took it.

You know...Something about this is just so...
Wow. Like, really. Enough photographs of people with perfect skin, with damn silicon injections and make up and stuff. Just once, I like to see people the way they really are. Pure and imperfect. :D And weathered with age, wisdom...*reminesces*

There really was something beautiful about this woman. She kind of looks like a tree, she's so... gnarly. Her voice was like some kind of animal, too. She spoke low and raspy. I'll remember her forever.

she is beautiful. not in the perfect way, but in the 'i have so many stories to tell you, but you dont care enough to listen' way. she is better than us.
